One of the biggest misconceptions people have about our business is that we have some issue with dog kennels or doggie daycare. We have no issues with these business models and consider them excellent referral partners. We can work together easily with them. They come across dogs everyday that either don’t do well in a boarding facility or don’t get along with other dogs. When that happens we are there to make sure those dogs can still have care while their pet parents are at work or out of town or if they have a dog that boards and a cat that stays at home.

One of the biggest advantages of our business is that we can take care of multi-species homes with no issue. We charge by the time, not by the pet. So if someone has a cat and a dog at home we can take the dog out, give the pets their food, and clean the cat box for the same fee. It is our belief that it is only fair that we charge for the time that we are there and more work is going to equal more time. For example if someone wants their dog walked for 20 minutes and their cat fed and played with they are going to need, at the very least, a 30-45 minute visit.

Our model provides us the flexibility in caring for multi-species households. A client might want to stagger care so we’re doing full dog walks in the morning and evening along with the dog feedings but are only doing let out for the dog at the mid-day visit while we feed the cat and clean their cat box or they could have longer visits in the morning to get everything taken care of and then the focus on the dog in the mid-day and evening.

We consider our care to be customizable and we work with our clients to come up with a pet care plan that works for them. One of our main strengths is the amount of situations we have seen. We have carried for thousands of pets in the near decade we have been in business. It is likely that we have come across circumstances before. While we are still learning all the time and experiencing new unique situations we have a very large file of past experiences to draw upon.

I once took care of a household that had two dogs, two cats, and Guinee pigs. It was certainly a lot of work that needed to be done in the course of the day, but the cats and the Guinee pigs only needed fed once a day, the cat box cleaned once a day, and the Guinee pig cages cleaned out once every three days. We were able to schedule three 30 minute visits a day with a 45 minute visit every third day for the Guinee pig cage clean up.

We’ve also had houses with fish, snakes, lizards, horses, and other caged animals to go with the dogs and/or cats. Lots of people love to have a variety of pets and if they can be cared for we’ll be their to provide what they need.
